DIN 41612 is a DIN standard for electrical connectors widely used in rack-based electrical systems. Standardization of these connectors is essential for open systems, where users expect components from different suppliers to operate together. The most widely known use of DIN 41612 connectors is in the VMEbus system.
The DIN 41612 standard has been widely accepted for various interconnection applications in telecommunications and data markets worldwide. DIN connectors with three rows (a, b, c) of contacts on 0.100" (2.54mm) square grid are available in wire-wrap or solder tail type terminations. Available pin configurations include 5pin, 10pin, 15pin, 20pin, 30pin, 32pin, 48pin, 64pin, and 96pin.

These connectors incorporate internationally accepted design advantages of DIN 41612 and IEC 60603-2 two-piece connectors in a quality design that provides high Signal Integrity (SI) and electrical performance.
The DIN 41612 standard has been withdrawn in favor of international standards IEC 60603-2 and EN 60603-2, but remains widely used in systems including STE Bus, CIMBUS, FUTUREBUS, VMEBus, MULTIBUS (II), NUBUS, VXi Bus, and VME 64X.
